Mid January I bought a 1977 22' Norman as a project boat. To date progress has been slow. Mid July a rotten tree trunk fell onto my boat remodelling the pulpit rail. Can anybody direct me to a replacement. I doubt the original is repairable. Any help would be appreciated. I am in the Peterborough area. Reg |

As you are in Peterborough flying down to the Black Cat and going right to Kempston would not be too ardous. You could try my old mate Darren Marsh who heads up a ferrous/non-ferrous fabrication business in Kempston specialising in Aluminium and Mirror-finished stainless steel work.
He mad my own pulpit and stanchions for my Ocean 30, the pulpit was so big it had to be made in 3 sections or it wouldn't go on the 4 x 4 roof rack. He also made my davits, all of it in mirror finished stainless steel.

They'd need the old one as a pattern or else a proper fabrication drawing - easier to give them the old one, just make sure the existing legs reflect the correct hole centres on the boat - they won't copy the crushed top rail.
Give them a call, and please offer Darren best wishes from Clive as I haven't seen him for a few years now.

Err - you did actually READ my response?
It's all there my friend, name, company, address, phone number, web-site. Apologies, I spelt Lyon close as Lion Close but putting the postcode into google maps gives it to you.
Even directions, amplified here a little - go south on the A1 from you to the Black Cat roundabout, that's just past Wyboston, turn/fork right towards Bedford, A421 keep going to Kempston, it's on the right about 6 or 7 miles down past fountains on the left.Come off the 421 at the 428, go right round the roundabout though onto Woburn Road, past premier Inn on the left, 2nd roundabout take 2nd exit Wolesley Road,4th left is Chantry Road, 1st right is Lyon Close.
Can't actually do much more LOL - I'm in Thailand!

Meant to be humerous actually Trevor! Replying to Philihun's comment about "fled the country" - a reference usually reserved for hardened criminals so I acted the part with pics of my pistol.

No problem mate, you offered in good humour, I replied in the same vein.
I think Trevor caught PC disease there, there is an epidemic sweeping the country but hopefully he has thrown off the infection as he's generally a good lad and fair too.
Was that fair Trevor? No offence intended. Anyway, given how often the pulpit rail type of query pops up I do hope Barwell are still prepared to do bespoke ones.
