Hi, do I need to get an anchor for my norman 23 ? It is going to be used on the river ouse Yorkshire. Also what type/size would you suggest and where/how would I attach it to the boat?
It's a good idea as the yorkshire ouse can rise pretty rapidly and run like hell, don't mess about with the folding grapnell types as they don't hold very well, a danforth type lurking somewhere out of the way with a good length of rope attached just in case it's needed, a length of chain at the anchor end helps it lay down properly.
Isn't naburn the tidal lock?? or is it another name for the same lock? I use the more traditional river navigation system,ie the lock a short walk from the blacksmiths arms......
