Managed to get down again Saturday, had a proper look at it turned out to be an old strip of wood jamming the cable, removed and the outdrive moves a treat!
Some more photos took so though i would share.

Still planning to bring the boat up to our mooring on the Oxford near Coventry next week, then we can sort out a new cover to make it watertight, and start work.
I need to rewire the starter battery and clean up the engine, pick up a new battery and have a good crack at starting it.
Any idea what size battery would be best for the Perkins 4107? |

Give the hull a good clean while she is out. A good scrub with something like Cif or Mr Muscle Lime and Grime will go a long way to improving the overall look. Don't put it off caust its nearly impossible to do a reasonable job once she is in the water.

Thats the plan, get down again before we move it, give it a good scrub.
End of this year we will be pulling from the water for a month or so to repaint, looks like the gel coat has long gone so will be rubbing down, filling any nicks and repaint.
Also, i have a feeling this boat did have an aft cabin and someone has hacked it off, found a 25ft aft cabin on ebay that looks very similar apart from the change to the front windows.

I will be removing the wooden trim round the deck to rub down and varnish, i am confident i will find signs of hacking under these! |

Little bit of an update!
We are going to sell Robyn, reason is that we have come into some money and can move straight on to the narrowboat we always planned to buy in the next ten years.
Little bit sad as i was looking forward to restoring the boat to its former glory.
So if anyone is interested in a project and wants more details then drop me a PM.
Boat is based in Ely marina at present, rent is paid up to the end of March, i can send photos or answer any questions by mail/phone/pm.
Would like to sell to someone who will look after it and restore it, rather than ebay where it could end up scrapped in a few years, not looking for much as the money is not important so open to offers.
Thanks Dave |

Hope someone takes up the challenge and continues to share pictures and ask questions so I can learn. - I would love to have her and renovate but I just bought my first Norman last month and I have pledged not to do any renovation work until we've used her for the season - following the good advice of the forum Best Wishes, Florian.

High Knighty.I've been warned if I buy any more It will be a divorce job. Any way I've just parted company with the 23. It was a long journey Cambridgeshire to South west Wales. But 1/2 an hr and the Perkins was running. Back working on the 32 now. I want to get it on my lake this year to test. Bob |
