Hi everyone.
I really need to replace the screen on my Norman 23, as the GRP is totally shot, and really does look a mess. Also the it feels as if the viewing area (for steering) is really restricted, i.e. a lot of frame and not much glass, but that maybe me being pedantic!!
Can anyone recommend a manufacturer of ready-made frames, or a supplier of aluminium frames with which I can perhaps construct my own?
All ideas will be really helpful
Cheers, Rog

There are a few firms that will make ally boat windows but very few who also do windscreens.
A while ago "Anglia Auto Vents were recommended but I'm not sure what happened after that!

Whilst a great company. Anglia Autovents will not make an entire windscreen from scratch.

I struggled to get a quote from any company to make a windscreen for my Freeman 32.

I guess the boat builders in Norfolk have sources of the correct profiles as they build them on hire boats, but I guess you would have to purchase quite a quantity from a stockist.

Sadly, I think you are going to find it very hard to find what you want.

Hi guys,
Many thanks for the suggestions, they are much appreciated, and I'll give some more thought to it.
Do you think it maybe worthwhile scouring the aluminium extrusion companies for a suitable ahape, and then try to get seals to suit?
The actual screen is not to much of a problem, as I can get Perspex, or even Lexan, and get it laser cut to the shape I require.

Hi,
Found this on the Norman site:

SPECIAL OFFER FROM GARY!

ANY CANOPY ORDERED BEFORE 31ST DECEMBER WILL RECEIVE A £100 DISCOUNT

Need a new canopy? Coverit will give a £50 discount to members whose boats must appear in the Register.

Gary also knows a fair bit about Normans, history and recognition.

Regards

Chris

That is a tad dated because I can't "edit" the site at the moment! Having said that, I'm sure Gary will still try and offer a good deal if you mention us!

Hi,
I very much like your 23 foot Norman Cruiser, on Norman Cruiser Website - the same as mine which I need to renovate.
