I am starting to think about the windows in my 32 refit. And would like a few suggestions as to the best ideas either curtains and tracks or blinds and where to get them

Hi Stratford
We bought blinds for our Norman 23 from Dunelm this year and had no trouble fitting them,we had to order them as we wanted a strange colour
But they turned up within a week and went straight in. We also bought from them some brass rails that expand that are sold to hang net curtains from and used these to hold the bottom of the blinds against the side of the boat when they are down. I think they are much neater than curtains as they are completely out of the way when rolled up.good luck with your install Sonny

Hi Stratford
recently finished refurbing my 23, got my blinds from www.247blinds.co.uk, pick the colour & size online and they arrived a week later, I think I paid 25 quid per window, not sure how that compares with others. They are supplied with small clips that hold the bottom in place and are easily unclipped to raise up. See the picture below.

John

Those blinds look great nice colours I prefer curtains tho more homely but that's just me. I bought one pair of curtains and cut them down made three pairs, just got the window above the kitchen to do now replace the scarf I have there at the mo. Simmy came with wire above the Windows so I've used that. All looks unprofessional and homemade but I like it lol

Hi Kev
well, the boat weighs in at just over 1000kg with the engine, the trailer at 250kg, towing capacity for the X-Trail is 2200kg. Took it to the Broads last month - 270 miles from Ullswater, Cumbria, she towed very well, used a full tank of diesel going,(£65) so not too bad on juice as I did a steady 60mph for most of the time. Having said that the Nissan is only 2.2Ltr and I think something with a bit more poke would be better so am looking to upgrade to a 2.5 or 3Ltr, maybe a Discovery 3.

regards

John

If it wasn't for blinds, it would be curtains for us all
