For the first strife free voyage on "Glenmore"! Pray cross owt you can for us as we set off steaming tomorrow around the Broads for a week.

Could this be the voyage that confirms why I bought this boat???

I can officially state that as of 2 miles from his home mooring He had still not broken anything! what happened in that last 2 miles is anyones guess.....
I on the other hand had the helm gear and cable jam up solid mid manouvre 2nd day in to a 2 week holiday. Fortunately the chef from one of our regular haunts lives across from where it happened and lent us his car for the day (what a lovely chap!!!)to get new bits as asap-supplies is only 10 miles away, £250 later and all was up and running again, also had to borrow drill to mount the new bits, now upgraded to non-reactive helm gear so no more torque steering.
I guess after nearly 40 years things are allowed to wear out.
Good to meet up with you Trev, maybe a smaller steak next time....

Yes, good to see you Dave and Ali and meet Winston! T'was our last night and a finer pub to spend it at than Sonia's Ferry House you shall not find! Youngest son was out with me and ended up with a steak of spectacularly grand proportions! Seemingly because the chef couldn't find a way to make it smaller!
All in all, we had a great week, Power boat racing at Oulton Broad was well worth the visit but our few days up north were manic and I'll not be venturing up there again at this time of year!

Had camera but, seemingly a fault I've picked up, forgot to take pictures!

We had a camera but the only piccies were of a helm gear in case it helped buying new bits, a finer pub? you havn't been in on a good lock-in at the ship yet have you? Although I have to admit the ferryhouse at surlingham has never let us down! ( typed in full to give Sonia a plug with the webbots) Get ya walking shoes on and try the decoy tavern at fritton a go sometime, Mo & Miles are lovely people and the food is great, as well as cheap for the broads, cracking walk through the woods....take a torch!
