Has anyone any thoughts on what paint I should use? My 23 has been previously painted but I don't know what paint was used. I was going to use International Toplac and then spotted Midland Chandlers Enamel at about £6 a tin cheaper. False economy or what?

This time next year.....

I suspect you will find that there will be a variety of recommendations. There are quite a few good paints around and each will suggest using what worked for them. Try and find out who makes Midland's paint. Could be made on licence by one of the big manufacturers.
However, the key to a good paint job is not simply the paint. It is mainly down to the preparation and the time and work you put in at that stage. There is no quick way of doing it.

Iv'e got a fair bit of tidying up to do with the paint mainly on the non-slip areas where it's peeling off. It looks as if it was painted over the dirt in the dimples! The smooth, flat areas look quite good and it's not flaking there.
The previous owner hadn't heard of masking tape and gave the window frames and grab rails a good splashing as well

It's all in the preparation. When I did my hull and topsides it took about 3 full Saturdays to prep and one day to paint. I used International paints.
