I've linked two 125amh batteries together. can I use the two oppersite terminals to connect the solar panels to or do these have to be connected to the terminals I'm taking the load from?

don't think there is a reason why not. i did what you want to do and had no problems.

Assuming you have linked the two batteries in parallel, you can connect your panel to any +ve and -ve terminal.

If they are in series, you may just have created a problem!!!! But at least the lights will be bright for a while!!!!!!
