Is it true you can't shoot scroat's who break into your boat, steal all your food and booze. Nick a tool box. And break cupboard locks because they are so thick they cannot figure out how to press a button and release the catch. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

Ba5tards! They sound as clever as the gits that tried unscrewing the motor off my dinghy that was only tied on, £200 motor-£500 dinghy, Doh!

Hi Adi,
yes they have cams, but I am not sure when it happened, several weeks since last visit. Where my boat was moored i don't think it was just a chance theft, I feel it was an inside job. I have my suspicions...

my turn for a winge now as some "sorry" has slashed the side panel of the canopy on our 23' and cut out the window letting the rain in and "Oh my word"ing up the cockpit.

I could understand a bit more if the canopy was locked to the boat but it was only held on with turn buckles and little bungys. one good yank and the clips would let go and there would be hardly any damage but due to the idiots I now need a new side panel.they had to climb out along a slippery scaffold tube over the Ouse in flood to do the deed and didn't even enter the damn boat and to top it all off my wife's convertible Mazda had the same thing done to the roof just over 3 weeks ago.

Does anyone know of a canopy maker in the St Neots area as I have some bushiness to put his way?

Andy chapman of ac coachtrimmings bedford is quite good and I've heard good reports about titan canopies, don't know the numbers offhand.
Andy tends to take ages though.

Ours was repaired via Jones Boatyard in St Ives. They farm it out to a local lady who charged a ridiculously low price for restitching the whole lot and replacing the windows. This was probably 5 years ago so things might have changed but definitely worth phoning them to ask.

we have reported the damage to the police and have since had the neighbourhood watch officer round who then went and carried out a door to door to ask if anyone saw anything but to no avail.we did not know about boat-watch but will look into it tonight.

thank you for all your help.
