Ok guys i've still got a bad leak,i'll tell you where it is if i can describe it good enough then tell you what we have done to stop it.
Its under the right hand side front window in the cabin,underneath the window there is a box section that go's the width of the boat but doe's not touch the sides it is level with the top of the side shelves,the water is dripping in there.When it rains it is a steady drip when its dry it still drips but a little slower,so the boat is holding water somewhere.
To date we have reseated all the deck fittings with mastic tape,plus the roof fittings,we have completly coverd all of the windows cabin and cockpit.
when we first bought the boat we took the rubbing strake off and that seemed to stop alot of leaking,we have replaced it with mastic tape underneath it but i wonder if it can still be leaking,although the strake is a little lower than the box section that the leak is coming from.
As all conquest owners will know the fordeck holds water and as far as i can see it is a single skin,so there is nowhere for the water to travel or enter the box section.
We went up to the boat today and nipped up all the fittings,other than that we are at a total loss at where to look next,i think what we need is fresh eyes and minds as we have spent that much time looking we might be missing something simple,so if anyone has any ideas they will be more than welcome. |

IF! I've interpreted your description correctly the box section is across the underside of the front deck about 8" in front of the middle of the front windows. Deck fittings resealed also includes the rearmost Pulpit rail fixing point that terminates in that area I assume? I found a large amount of water between the skins when I removed the screws holding the shelf unit in place.
The water gathered on the front windows, seeped between the perspex and the ali. frame and pooled in to void. The seal around the window being a bit lacking. Until I can attend to it properly (after winter) and also replace the perspex windows I packed Plumbers Mait along the lower edge with a putty knife and the problem ceased. Not a lot of help to you I know best guess a window/window frame on the right sie of the boat! But without seeing the boat its a difficult question to answer. Good luck with finding it. |

I find Sikaflex 291 is the best sealant for sorting leaks

| My 20 has always had a slight seep on one front side windows. Prob a seal but never bothered me. Always leave a sponge in the well/tray bit under the window. After a heavy bit of rain it might want a wring out now and then. |

Thanks for all replys,all the windows are totaly sealed with plastic and gaffa tape, cockpit and cabin we know that they need doing.
I think i will take the front rubbing strake off and see what happens. |
