the only commercial place we stopped was stanley ferry, otherwise countryside moorings(our choice)..found out enroute you need to book tuel lane deep lock, joining c&h with rochdale, day before..awesome lock with a good chippy close by :)..hebden is a lovely place to moor but can be busy mooringwise.. Todmorden is ok,grandma pollards chippy at walsden nom nom, there's a nice pub at summitand quiet moorings.. littleborough is quiet,Rochdale town NO!!a couple of hours further on Castleton is a canalside pub with moorings called the Hogarth, good food..a couple of locks further is the ship, but we didnt try there..its about an hour from there to lock 63, 2 up from the ashton flight, but about an hour in distance

Calder & Hebble you are pretty safe anywhere. Aire and Calder up to Leeds (coming east to west) is safe but, after Leeds you will be advised by Lockies to set off sharpish in a morning to get as far as Rodley by lunchtime. Which direction are you doing this Adi?

Like your Home run Trev - Down To Keadby then across to the Rochdale & back down the Macclesfield & T&M.

Looks like it might be our hardest trip yet (Although less miles n locks than we have done in the past .

Updates to follow on route !!!!
