I have a carver cascade gas electric water heater fitted and an ALDE Bubble Gas Leak Detector which bubbles when a gas leak is detecteed. The problem I now have is, that when the water heater is turned off but the gas is not isolated a few regular small buubles are showing in the sight glass of the tester. Does anyone know what the likely cause of this is. When I isolate the heater the bubbles stop which indicates something wrong with the heater but I don't know what?

looking at your description it looks like the gas valve
is passing you might want to buy a gas service kit for it if you are
competent or have a lpg gas fitter do it for you
