Weather permitting, I'm hoping to take my Boat For My Potplants out for the first time this Thursday. I admit I'm a little nervous.
On top of that I think it's about time some of the wonderful people of Wivenhoe quay get a bit of of the recognition that they truly deserve.
The first of my 'Quay Characters' appears on my blog. I hope he's wishing me luck for my inaugeral trip.

Although your 'Blog' is obviously responsible for all of your 'Good luck' in obtaining parts / engine etc etc etc, its time to loose those ropes & actually enjoy what boating is really about!
Watch the tide times , check fuel levels & make sure you have enough warp/chain for your anchor (After all its a new engine installation so untried)
ENJOY it - Its far better than blogging !!

Sewer Tubes ? I'd rather have a D**ncr*ft (Only Kidding) |

Ah - an anchor. I knew there was something I had forgotten. Thanks Adi!

And the know how to use it, a dragging anchor is no use at all.

Great blog Neil thanks for sharing it, good luck with the first cruise, I would of taken myself off for a quiet potter first time out. You run day trips to the local lighthouse, brilliant. Err what is the frequency for the locl radio station? Might be worth tuning into around 9 pm for the news!! Have fun. K |

Good luck with your first (of many we hope ) voyage.
Dont forget to make sure the anchor warp is secured to the boat !!
It has been forgotten in the past.

Hope this post is not too late, but get a chart, you are in the mud bank capital of the UK Getting stuck on the mud is a real downer, and if you do, don't get out and try to push. I did that when I was about 10 (off east Mersea) I had to be rescued
