Hi - I have a Norman 20 (circa 1975-1980) and I've recently taken out the cabin windows to replace the seals and give them a general refurb. However, whilst removing the frames, I found that a number of the original rivet nuts holding the frames in place had seized, and I had to drill a few out.
Does anyone know where I can source replacements? I've tried a number of different ones from Riv-nut sellers on ebay, but all are metric, and the m4's and m5's I've tried are all either too big or too small. If anyone knows the correct size/spec of the originals to help me search for some, that would be really useful too - thanks! |

| Hi there, It is possible to buy from a good tool store a special pop rivet designed for use on fibreglass. These have a specially wide collapsible head. They come in different length to suit various thicknesses of fibreglass plus window frame. I have used them when replacing all of the windoe frames on my boat and they work. |

I replaced the windows on my norman using stainless acorn nuts inside and countersunk socket head screws, I used M5x0.8 threads, the acorn nuts looked quite good.
On Leo as it has wooden lining I used the pressed stainless steel fixings with the tangs that dig in on the inside, can't remember what they're called though.
