Hi everyone again, could someone tell me the best type of anti foul paint and how much I would need, cost and where to get it from for my Norman 23, it will be on the Thames

There are various qualities available, you generally get what you pay for. I have the luxury of a free boat club slip so I can haul out and power wash for free so I use the cheapest stuff I can lay my hands on and only do the water line and 1 foot under the boat. If you are paying for lift outs I would go for something slightly better. Plastimo seems popular as a reasonable branded product, but Flag is almost as good and several £££ cheaper. It depends on what you can pick up, there are a number of mail order outlets, but the postage costs cancel out any savings on the paint. Boat jumbles (google it) are a good hunting ground for cheap anti foul.
For inland use, you want eroding anti foul. (Usually the cheapest stuff)

Hi
I antifouled my Norman 22 this spring (see the pictures on the thread in this forum about Mussels!) and I used 3/4 of a 2.5L can of primer and about a can (2.5L) and a half of Flag antifouling applied with a roller. I bought it back in January from Toolstation when they had it on special offer, but they are still quite good value since they offer free delivery. Hope that helps. I chose this simply on the basis of price so we will have to wait and see how it performs

Thanks everyone, I have now bought HEMPEL PAINT CLASSIC ANTIFOULING 2.5 L TRUE BLUE, off ebay for £42.98 including postage,(didn't get any primer though) seems from wite ups etc, to be ok, going to have a go at doing it myself this week, unfortunatelly have had to pay a marina to pressure washer it, Grrrrrrrr, can't do it myself 'cause of the damm hose pipe ban!!

Do wear some gloves & overalls Mike (Even Paper ones) Whilst antifoul isnt as bad as it used to be its still a biocide.
Next time I will wear a mask I think (We have good fume ones at work) - That nasty antifoul taste you take home after a couple of hours rollering tastes bad !!
