Hello and I hope that you are all well. I suspect that maybe this post should be in the "For Sale/Wanted" section and I hope that Trev will forgive me!! When we acquired "Page in Time" (a Norman 20) in 2008 we didn't really see the need for a double bed, thinking that the singles would be sufficient and subsequently cut up the middle cushion to make a triangular one to go in the bow section....big mistake! We now think that maybe a double would be more comfortable and I am just checking to see if, by any chance, anybody has a middle cushion which is surplus to requirement which they would be prepared to sell, preferably in the East Midlands and surrounding area as we are in Lincoln and it would be easier to collect. One that needs recovering would be ideal. I thank you for reading my plea and hope that somebody might just have one hidden away somewhere. Kind regards. Pete
Best bet if you cannot find one is to measure it up and get a piece (or pieces, look out for seat foam cushion pads on eBay, about 2ft square) of foam made up. My 20 never came with a centre section of cushion, always assumed one of the cockpit side cushions doubled up as a centre piece as stowage would be a problem otherwise.
Hi Knighty and many thanks for your advice. I have checked today and the cockpit cushion is too small, too hard and too thin!! As suggested I have looked on e bay where there is plenty of seating foam at sensible prices. I think that is the route we will take. Many thanks again. Kind regards Pete
If you do happen to get a slimmer cushion it is possible to add apiece of foam by gluing it with spray glue. My 23 had a caravan cushion to make up the centre of the double and it was thinner. Thanks to the assistance of an upholsterer it`s now perfect.
Also if you do the centre in 2/3 pieces you can get them covered in same material as the cabin and "loose" them as side bolsters or arm rests etc and just piece them together when a bed is needed. Better than just chucking them in a locker.
Anybody got a spare bed cushion please?
