Hi.
This week I have been helping a fellow Norman owner to anti-foul his boat at a local marina in Lincoln. Whilst looking at the boats for sale we noticed a Viking 23 and asked to look around her.
Although having ample headroom and being very spacious, the thing that amazed us was just how "wobbly" she was! We had previously looked around a Shetland and found the same problem. In comparison the Norman is so much more stable and, had we taken the Viking for a trip down the River Witham, we are sure that we would have both been sick!
It would be interesting to read comments from other Norman owners and possibly Viking owners and, for the meantime, we will be sticking with our stable Norman 20's.
Kind regards to you all.
Pete

I had a 'norman conquest' before my Viking 23 and both handle easily singlehanded. I've taken both on the Trent in fairly fast water without problems and not sure what you mean about 'Wobbly'. The Viking is certainly lighter than a comparible Norman 23 but not unstable even when I've had 4 other adults on it with me.

regards

Ollie

Hi Ollie.
Many thanks for your reply. Maybe it was just the one that we looked aboard but she was definitely not as stable as our Norman 20's and was rolling noticeably from side to side.
What is the name of your boat as we will look out for you when next on a trip Nottingham way.
Kind regards
Pete

Hi Ollie.
Many thanks for your reply.
Drop me an e-mail if you get up Lincoln way (we are moored in the Brayford Marina) and we can meet up for a pint.
Kind regards and a happy, healthy and peaceful 2012 to you and yours.
Pete
