Seems that a few Freeman owners are looking for somwhere to post. I have no problem with adding a separate section to help out.

Anyone have any objections?

Why would we object to other boaty people without normans, as long as they sign a declaration stating that they appreciate normans...

No objections but confused with the Sub Section bit. would a Freeman owner have to a)paint the boat black and sink it? b)only cruise underwater? or c) send in posts to the forum from underwater?

Buccaneer, you need to upload your pics to a web host and link to them from there. The picture you have linked to is local to your PC so will not display on any other ones. Try www.imageshack.us or photobucket.

BTW, I've no objection to a Freeman sub-forum. All are welcome, I reckon.

As there are now so many members who DON'T have Normans, why do we even need a sub section? I don't have a Norman (I don't have a boat at all at the moment, sadly!) but I keep coming back here because it's a great forum to belong to.

I could give a holy and noble sermon as to why we should keep the original Norman identity but I won't ........ OK I will .....

Many of us came to boating via an "economy" marque that Norman and others like Freeman and Dawncraft provide. When I bought mine there was absolutely nowhere at all to go for specific and tolerent advice! Yes there were canal forums even then but they did not take any prisoners when it came to taking the proverbial!
Even though we have progressed individually, Norman still remains as an affordable route into boating for the beginner on a limited budget. I wish there had been some such place as this when I first started. I rather think I could have saved a fair bit of money and grief if there had been!
I still get emails saying what a relief it is to find us...... long may it continue!

All together now ........ AMEN!

Iv'e heard that Trevor has always provided quality relief... now where was i when I heard that???
It looks like the panic is over temporarily, it appeared that our beloved Freeman forum was falling apart at the seams in an IT way and no one could put it back together again. We had days of outages and errors and all sorts of problems.

Thankfully most have been sorted now so I imagine we will stay where we are for the time being, thank you very much for the kind words...
I came into boating via a very economy route... I couldn't even afford a Norman then. Although I may be an mahogany panelled Freeman owner now, I still boat in the spirit of plywood!! So I still exist here......

Really?.....I'd suggest using Tor if you're going to start discussing unsavoury things like that......this is a family-friendly forum after all!
