I suspect most of the Normans built around the late 70s/early 80s were fitted out with the same formica finish on the bulkheads/cupboard carcases, etc. I do seem to remember this as Teak from my memories of that era, but this is now pretty rare and new edging, whilst still available, requires more than just a trip down the local DIY. So that I do not end up with a 50 metre coil of the wrong colour, I would be most grateful if anyone knows whether it is Teak or not.
All the doors, bulkheads and internal walls are indeed finished in formica with the "real" wood reserved for cabinet shelves and backs and the various trims.
I'll take a photo today and post it on the offchance that anyone recognises the finish.
Some of my edging was split or missing, i ordered the iron on teak veneer edging from eBay where you can order small amounts if you search. I ended up gluing it on and where it needed it i stripped the whole edges off and a light sand before gluing on and with a couple of coats of satin varnish didn't look too bad.
