Looks like we might all get to go boating this year after all, assuming it's still floating by then.....
I got pfizered this morning, Ali got astra'd 9 days ago and there's potential pub opening dates on the horizon.
And there's finally daylight when I walk the dog in the morning and when I leave work, may have to get the bike mot'd again this weekend, at least I got an extra 6 months for free last year.
WooHoo!!!!

12th of April seems to be the "free for all" date.
I bet the canals will be like the M1 on a Monday morning!

All guidelines currently published seem to go against what is in the legislation so I would shy away from overnighting just yet chaps.
Won't be long.....

It would appear that the latest restrictions as of 29th march no longer mention local or overnight for non commercial accommodation for single households, sounds like private overnight boating is allowed by law.
Please note I have not read through the attached pdf myself and the legalese would baffle me, this is purely from others that understand these things better than me, I would have a read through and check for yourself first.

Heard about a bloke from a friend who built a full size Sopwith Triplane replica.Had it test flown by a professional pilot and after landing climbed out with his knees knocking and said "for Christ's sake put it in a museum,it'a f'ing death trap.

The red baron I had dealings with is a self build fokker triplane replica with a lycoming copy engine (superior xp-360),it didn't have any wings when I set fire to it as it had just been repaired after a mishap on landing.(they call it crashing I believe).
The humber runs pretty fierce indeed, we did it during neap tides and go to hull about 90 minutes before high water so had to go past the entrance and turn into the tide to get in through the piers (that are rather big and solid stone and not that wide), we shot past at just over idle for a couple of minutes before turning and then spent the next half hour with both engines at 2500rpm to get back to the entrance then had to keep the power on hard and ferry glide in through the piers to get the power off quick once out of the flow as there's not much room to stop before the lock, I wouldn't fancy it on a spring tide for sure.
My favourite bit was having a slanging match with the pilot of a coaster the next day after he nearly put himself on hessle sand, the pilot didn't know the channel had changed from one side of the river to the other 2 days beforehand, I got a sort of apology from the humber HM for that.

Enjoyed looking at Leomagill web page.
But was looking for a Red Baron.
Is it a Fokker Triplane or a Tiger Cub microlight?
Pictures of the Humber I still find scary. Was brought up in Hull and have seen the Humber estuary in many a bad mood.I still remember the pilot boats battling through the waves.Don't think I'll ever be brave enough to tackle the army coloured river!

And, yeah, I got a six month extension on my summer 2020 car MOT. At the time I thought "excellent". Fast forward to December 23rd when I'm on the phone to the (amused) MOT guy desperately trying to get it booked in on the first working day of 2021, because that's when it expired. Thankfully it passed.

Luckily I have a run out in the van monday that goes pretty much past the boat so I can check it over and sort out a plugin for a couple of days to give the batteries a boost, I have the guvnor well primed so if anything is near norwich I go.
If I'm doing a 200 mile round trip and going within view of it there's no way I'm not stopping to check on it.
Last time I went to that airfield I set the red baron on fire, well it was just after VE day so it was fair game, this time I just have to collect the engine due to a crankshaft recall so no flames involved.

I've been proper grumpy these last few days. I was OK when the big freeze was happening but today it's sunny and warm and superb spring boating weather. It's the time of year when we'd usually scoot off to the boat at the drop of a hat if the weather is nice.

Yes hopefully.Oil change,a good wash and Armoral the canopy and ready for off.
Sold my last bike a couple of years ago, because I have been biking on and off for about 50 years, with no accidents, but in my last two years biking I had three SMIDSY's (Sorry mate I didn't see you)so I thought it was time to give up.
