On Thursday, I visited my boat for the first time simce lockdown. I pumped out some water that I knew was in there, and had been worrying about. Then I noticed a large (7 metre+) tree branch in the water alonside my, and my neighbour's boat. Neither of us would be able to leave our mooring. We are moored on Radcot Island, on the Thames, so it is not the main reach of river.

I contacted the owner of the mooring and he said to email the EA which I did that evening, attaching a photo and Google Map location.

Yesterday morning I had an email saying an EA Team were in the area, and please may they board my boat to assess if they needed a crane to remove the branch. At 1:30 pm, another email arrived saying the obstruction had been completely removed, and thanking me for reporting it. I think that's pretty impressive - 20 hours total!

Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads!

Nice one, that'd take them a month on the gt.ouse.

Yeah, just to respond to the email!!

Having said that, the communications from the EA on the Great Ouse have been better of late now that they are using social media a bit more. (DF probably won't know wot that is!)
