Hi Guys and Girls looking at a norman 32 it has an engine and prop and the hull has been anti fouled and painted!
It has a brand new centre canopy the insides have been stripped out ready to renovate. I'm planning on doing the work myself with help from experts! How much money do you reckon I will need? |

Yes it has to be flex/multi strand Artic cable is best for the 240v electrics |

Photo may need resizing as there is a size limit.
Don't go using twin + earth for the boat electrics as the bss don't like it.

Ok so this is the photo of the boat when i bought her, none of the items indside where mine they are what the previous owner has left behind. I have now removed the roof paneling as you can see they was falling down anyway i have also removed the big silly chair that had been built in there. I then removed the center floor and the raised section on the right as all this was rotten due to the starboard window leaking in. I have also made a start removing all the carpet and latted area to the bow area as this was also very wet and rotten. The port side im leaving in for now so we have somewhere to make a brew which is much needed at times  . As the boat still starts and runs on the water we are able to use it as a day boat which is fine for now as it will break up the work by just going out for the odd day and having a relax. As for the rebuild im an electrician by trade so i can do the bulk of the work myself i have many friends in the building game so that should help us get jobs sorted. When all said and done this is a project and will be treated as such it takes as long as it takes. We have a nice quiet secure mooring that im building a decking on first so we have somewhere to sit and watch the world go by |

If you get it useable first and get out on it you will find a lot of your ideas and priorities change as you find out how you are using it, you will be surprised how much upholstery can cost even doing it yourself, we made new internal upholstery for an RLM31 and the foam along cost £300.

Hi and good luck.
Whatever you think it will cost you...just double it!
I would guess it is impossible to put a costing on it as it depends on what you intend doing.
Mine was more a refurbishment than a renovation but the costs soon stack up.
Although I could have used my boat straight away, took her off the river for 12 months to get done all that I wanted.
A large part of the enjoyment (and frustration) was in doing the work myself, it was my project.
