Posted - 02 Apr 2019 : 15:39:41 Latest project to squeeze a bit more out of snowbird seems to have worked, now lifts it's bum better and gained 2 knots flat out, cruises a few 100 rpm lower without digging in too. All 4 tabs are hydraulically adjusted and it will sit as level as I want it to, Ali said we could cruise with a better attitude but I pointed out that was wrong as I'd still be a knob! Gone from a pair of 20" x 8" tabs to a pair of 22" x 12" & a pair of 25" x 12", just a small gain in surface area.....

Posted - 03 Apr 2019 : 08:23:20 No bought bennetts at a hideous cost, it still revs to max rated rpm after a bit of build up and it's giving 2 knots over the prop guys expectation so I recon that's about all it will ever do with the hp available, same speed 200-300rpm lower has to be a fuel saving and easier on the ears as looking to do a few 6+ hour runs this year if the weather plays fair, got my sights on gt.yarmouth/whitby/scarborough/wells/gt.yarmouth for summer hols and maybe another ramsgate run in august. Gonna be an expensive diesel year......

Posted - 03 Apr 2019 : 02:06:11 Did you make your own Dave (Knob) and just buy the hydraulics?
Next you'll be fitting hydroplanes?
Way to go anyway IF the pay-off isn't too much increased drag cancelling the increased lift!

Finally living the dream!
