Posted - 07 Oct 2018 : 16:14:37 Got to the boat ok ready for first tryout run. Engine starts and runs if I give it some Revs on the lever in neutral but won’t tick over if lever returned to central position. So can’t really see how I can move the boat for craning. Any advice, please? 9.9 hp Honda. Ticked over in the central position no problem last weekend. |

Posted - 07 Oct 2018 : 20:57:21 Hi Tom, all the best for tomorrow. Glad you got your motor sorted while I was typing my reply! I've got a Honda on mine and I had a bit of trouble with it cokeing the plugs. 2 sets of plugs and and some trial and error with the mixture screw and now it runs nicely. Jud |

Posted - 07 Oct 2018 : 20:08:52 That's exactly what I did, Jud. Worked a treat though motor's running a bit fast now so I'll screw it out a shade in the morning. Main problem was working out how to get the motor hood off. |

Posted - 07 Oct 2018 : 20:04:09 Tom, silly question but have you tried turning the idle screw up on the carb body or leaving the choke out a little bit? Jud. ps. I see I was a little bit late with that! |

Posted - 07 Oct 2018 : 19:57:30 All sorted! After half an hour of World Wrestling Federation action, I managed to find the damn catch to get the hood off the engine!! Cleaned the air filter and speeded the tickover a bit on the throtttle stop and all is well. Even managed to get a little cruise around s the marina and then onto the Grand Union for a bit!! Thanks for the quick replies, all. Phew. Thought I was going to have to cancel a lorry and two cranes. |
