11 days since the last post. I look every day to look at the Peregrine sitting faithfully. Perhaps that is what every one is doing. More interested in wildlife than the boats.

Good news Sonny! I now have a problem with my boat! (and it's your fault for using the topic title )
Managed another great week out but had to bring my new water tank back home for a weld up as one of the seams cracked and dumped the contents in the bilge, luckily we still had water up untill the last evening when we were moored right outside a pub (guess which Trev)with an outside tap so no great disaster.
Started with a bank holiday weekend on the broads while the wind dropped, on the monday we headed for southwold as too much north easterlys forecast for wells, had to rescue a pair of jetskis in trouble in the harbour mouth and take them under tow, charged them a salvage charge of a pint of blackshore a piece from both of them , a good 2 nights in southwold as the wind was due to howl again on the tuesday and headed for woodbridge up the deben on the wednesday for a couple of nights, fog and mist all the way so didn't see the coastline at all till close to bawdsey which was a relief as didn't have the latest entrance bouyage on the plotter (I'm getting used to watching the radar now).
2 good nights in woodbridge and all pubs visited we headed back to southwold for a night to break the trip up for the dog (he can only cross his legs for so long)and it was misty as hell again, had a large rib zoom over to us gesturing towards the shore and making a 'kaboom' gesture, I knew it was a kaboom gesture as I'd heard something over the vhf about unexploded ordanance but didn't get the position, I guess this must be the position!! Sure enough bang on our plotted route planned for the time we were due to pass so took avoiding action and a large veer round the area, tried to watch in the distance but too misty to see anything.
Another nice night in soutwold before heading back to yarmouth and back up the rivers to notice the water gauge was far lower than it should have been.
All good fun, now to order the next load of diesel for the july holiday.

hi Dave i have a wet exaust and have now installed a vetus waterlok .the boat is much quieter and also more responsive so its a plus all round. the new boat is looking good and nice to see you enjoying yourself.

That's full tabs at 16 knots, not full throttle though as I backed it off once it levelled out, I think the angle of the pic makes it look more bum down than it is, it has another 5 knots if I give it full throttle but the fuel gauges go down to quickly for my liking and it's not good to hold it at 3900rpm all day long.

Doesn't that boat have trim tabs Dave? That pic looks as though it can't get "over the hump" with stern in a hole and nose in the air. Unless that isn't WOT but the prop-wash is close to the stern and breaking the surface. Nice boat but looks as though it could go a lot faster!

Finally living the dream!

I just got a video through from the NYA rib that came alongside while leaving southwold last weekend, first time I've seen my own boat underway.
Here it is at 16 knots.

And a nice still image from the same source.

I pulled the Honda off Yerwot to change the oils, impeller etc,and now the lower unit(gearbox and prop)refuses to fit back in so now we're
marooned in the marina until I can fix it
I used to love my boat.

Is your exhaust wet or dry running? If wet a waterlock will take out all the noise pretty much, a bike exhaust sounds like a risky setup.

I hate you lot, all out in the sunshine this weekend. we slept on the boat for the first time on saterday night and all we could hear was the water from the boat next door coming out from the sink.
turned out in the morning that it wasnt the neibours but the bloody rust hole in my exaust leaking into the builge so have spent the last two days in the builge putting in a waterlock exaust instead of swanning around in Grumpys toy in the sun. just goes to prove that even a very expencive harley davidson exaust installed by a previous owner wont last for ever!!!

If it cheers you up this weekend was crap! A complete disaster, weather was horrible, water was too rough to move, make your own mind up...

I lied! This was the return trip past lowestoft at 16 knots on an oily flat sea with every thing running sweet, you can't beat a weekend trip to southwold and back, how else do you waste loads of diesel?
And this is the early may bank holiday, roll on proper summer!
Nice gentle pace obviously.

I am so envious of you all out on your boats. My 32 is in the barn and will not see the water again this year. I wanted to do the Avon ring this year but no one to look after my place while I am away.

I was far too busy puttering about in a dinghy with the dog while Ali wasted time washing the boat down and cleaning the canopy, you'd have thought she's have better things to do.....
