Posted - 07 Mar 2018 : 09:05:14 Had a request from Phil to ask about headlinings. I don't know of anyone who might do these. In fact, I can't recall anyone asking about this before as most Normans had the GRP finish to the interiors. Obviously the bigger wide beams like the 266 and 29 were a tad more luxurious.
"Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for who may have selection of vinyl cabin lining, so I can attempt to get a reasonable match for a section I have had to replace. Tried Jeckells but because my material is rather old, matching was unsuccessful. Really need someone who perhaps carries 'legacy' material? The colour is off white / pale cream (I have sample offcuts I can post to match) Need approx 2 sq metres. Any ideas welcomed! Thanks"

Posted - 28 Dec 2018 : 18:22:28 Surely there's something suitable on ebay. Many of the sellers will provide a sample for a few pennies.
This is one possible example:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEATHERETTE-LEATHERCLOTH-MATERIAL-FAUX-LEATHER-UPHOLSTERY-VINYL-FABRIC-1-METRE/231836614631?hash=item35fa89ffe7:g:vc0AAOSwwVBbkVSw:rk:17:pf:0&var=531077354467
...... but there are many others if you do a search on "upholstery vinyl"

Car-centric but very helpful folks.
You will probably struggle to get a match for age-faded stuff. You may have to go two-tone or, if your pockets are overflowing with gold, replace it all. |
