The water tank on our 23 is under the bow locker. Previous owners have fitted a filling point under the port bow locker using plumbing pipe and various right angles to reach the tank. This is a ball ache to top up, having to remove the bow cushions each time we top up the tank, aspecially while out on the cut and the bed is made up. Would it be possible to have an outside filling point fitted. I've seen these on other Normans and it would make it so much easier to top up. Thanks in advance.

Why not use 2 inch ribbed plastic pipe from tank, via hole against hull in locker top, up to foredeck to a flush deck fitting. That is what I have done on pretty much all the boats I have fitted out. A lot depends of course on where the tank filler connection is and what sort of tank you have, for example a Crew-Saver bladder tank can be made up to owner's dimensions to fit a awkward space, like the bow of a cruiser, and you can stipulate where the filler is located.

But a filler pipe up the side of the hull is not too much of an intrusion to a made-up bed, the mattress will just squash around it so I advise you bring the filler pipe up against hull or bow and route it above bunk to the deck filler above on foredeck or side deck.

Finally living the dream!
