We are upgrading our newly acquired Norman 23 ...we wish to cruise the Lancaster canal in winter and was considering a propex gas Hester...has any member fitted such heater and found it ok

Forgot to add you will need to purchase an isolation valve to satisfy BSS and dont run any gas pipe where he cant see it.

When you buy a marine kit it comes with a stainless fitting to attach the exhaust and the fresh air intake Also there is a template included which lets you drill through the boats skin with a holesaw and then fit the included stainless hoses. Plenty long enough to fit well above the water line. Everything is in the box and the Customer Service is also very helpful with any queries.

Stick it under the starboard cockpit locker and run the heating duct (well insulated) thnrough the main bulkhead and under the galley sink locker to exit via a grill under the locker doors.
An alternative is route the duct below the cockpit floor if it is high enough in which case the exit grill can be in the middle of the doorway coaming assuming the cabin sole is right on the kelson and there is enough vertical space for the grill.
The exhaust which gets VERY hot is heavily lagged in glass lagging and goes through a hole in the hull WELL ABOVE the waterline. You need a good fresh air inlet for it too.

Many Thanks to all reply...will now fit a propex heatsource 2000 ...just need to decide on location for heater and exhaust.

Yes, got a Propex 2000 installed on a Norman 27. Excellent bit of kit and if you already have LPG you can DIY fit in 2-3 hours. It has Thermostatic control and is quite frugal on gas. It exhausts outside and is designed for safe operation. Like most Normans it means you stay with 2 fuels(Petrol and Gas). Ps dont forget to get a Gas Fitter to check your handy work if you diy + Make sure you buy the marine kit and not the camper van version.

I can't speak for the others but Eberspachers are quite NOISY for both you and your neighbours.

If you have outboard propex is probably the way to go, if diesel inboard then eberspacher/webasto/plannar would be the choice, I believe all 4 are good if properly installed.
