Posted - 21 Jul 2017 : 19:06:01 Some despicable thief has stolen the cowl off the top of my Honda 8hp. outboard... It is an electric start remote control model. I live between Corby and Peterborough. Any help to find a replacement would be very welcome.

Posted - 02 Aug 2017 : 19:25:10 There is a cowl on google for £10 + postage, methinks your's is the later round top version. Keep looking is the motto but if it's urgent cough up i'm afraid. As for thief proof they would steal the boat if the cowl was hard to remove. Sorry for the downer but it's a fact of life these day's. Life evens up in the end. lol

Posted - 02 Aug 2017 : 18:50:57 You are correct, £300! Thanks for the support. If I get a new one, how do I make it thief proof? |

Posted - 22 Jul 2017 : 18:22:03 Actually it was more likely someone who needed the cowling to go with the outboard they just nicked where the owner had replaced the cowling with one of those theft-deterrent ones mentioned on here recently. Scumbags can be persistent. |

Posted - 22 Jul 2017 : 18:14:54 It went because they are over £300 new. On e bay uk or the rest of the net, used about £80 -ish. Add the correct Honda stickers about £25. Also a rip off. All in all it is an upturned mop bucket painted grey.Probably not a boat owner but a thief who knows their value is like a laptop or a good mobile phone. Sorry for your bad luck mate.
