I have the original Yamaha 9.9 on my Norman 24 and the CDI unit is breaking down. its a 6G8-85540-20. I understand that the 21, 22, 23 and 29 are compatible. Has anyone got a second hand unit for sale. |

Hi .
The CDI unit on our Honda started cutting out now and again, then wouldn't start , then would run ok for hours or minutes. You can usually check if it is this unit is faulty by tapping it with the handle of a screwdriver whilst running. If it cuts out that's the problem. The electronics are encased so cannot be repaired. It's a very expensive item. Chinese look alikes are available. I decided on a genuine Honda item from America, a lot cheaper even with the shipping costs. Second hand ones are difficult to evalulate .
