I have a norman 22 widebeam with a large volvo penta engine and out drive.I have owned the boat for around 18 months.over the past couple of weeks I have had a couple of problems which my neighbour on my marina is a mechanic sorted for me.he pointed out that there is an engine mount but it hasn't been fastened down.I contacted the guy who sold me the boat ha also is a mechanic he told not to fasten the engine down as he made the mount as added support when reinstalled the engine.he also stated that if it was fastened down movement could cracking the fibre glass.can anyone confirm this as correct he stated the engine was supported by the gear box this is a 2 litre engine it must weigh a ton and only supported by the gearbox? Is this right.

I've seen volvos supported by the outdrive before, how right I don't know, try on the ybw motorboat forums and volvopaul will know for certain.
I always thought it looked a bit odd.
