Hello All,

I have two 110 ah leisure batteries hooked together as a single bank, but I'd like to install some kind of voltage metre that would allow me to see the voltage at a single glance. Somethin with a simple dial like the kind of thing you might have seen on cars in the 'olden' days. Are there such things, or must I always rely on pulling out a voltimeter and lifting the deck boards to check my voltage, etc.., etc..? I'd like something cheap and cheerful that I can attach to an internal wall. Again, any ideas?

Sal

Thanks for this Stratford. The idea of a housing makes loads of sense. I'll drop him a line. And Clive.., the horn button makes sense too.

Thanks!

Instead of a toggle switch why not have a simple horn button? You only spend maybe 3 seconds looking at it anyway. Press, read, let go.

Finally living the dream!

Thanks.., that looks like just the trick, and the idea of the toggle switch is good!

I use something similar to one of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-DC-0-30V-Voltmeter-LED-Panel-3-Digital-Display-Volt-Voltage-Meter-Motorcycle-/152267407645

You need to mount it in a box or a panel. If you are worried about the small amount of current the meter itself will take stick a toggle switch in the positive lead.

If you don't mind waiting then yo can get the same thing from China on UK ebay for about a quid.
