Posted - 29 Sep 2016 : 17:33:40 Has anyone ever taken the roof off the rear cabin on a norman 20 conquest I cant find a "normal" 20 so was thinking of getting a conquest and converting it. How hard would it be? Any advice would be welcome. |

Or this one needing work and an engine from a scrap-yard plus some marinising bits:-

Posted - 30 Sep 2016 : 22:24:41 A 25 is not what I'm looking for, its too big to keep at home and a trailer is esential |

Posted - 30 Sep 2016 : 20:32:18 A 25 isn't realy any good for coastal despite the claims, I wouldn't fancy it.

Posted - 30 Sep 2016 : 20:30:57 I have got a 25 with large rear deck Perkins 4108 and enfield leg was running up to a few weeks ago. Needs a lot of work. Might sell if the price was right. No trailer |

Posted - 30 Sep 2016 : 14:44:13 For a 20 with an inboard and trailer, anywhere in the uk. Really looking for a boat that needs some work as I am on a limited budget |

Posted - 30 Sep 2016 : 08:37:52 Rebuilding the transom was always going to be on the "to do" list as I was already aware of this problem. In an ideal world I would find a 20 with an inboard but round here thats like finding dragon droppings. |

Posted - 30 Sep 2016 : 08:19:04 If you are going to hang 80hp on it factor in the work of stripping and rebuilding the transom, the filler wood is notorious for going rotten, no problem to river cruisers packing 20hp but 80hp on coastal will probably take the transom off at a very inconvenient time.

Posted - 29 Sep 2016 : 23:16:29 I am looking for a winter project and so far the only boats I have found for sale with a trailer in my price range have all been conquests |

Posted - 29 Sep 2016 : 22:53:34 I think I might hang out for a 20 if I were you. They are around. Can still hang a big lump on the back. I'll admit that you are a tad north of the usual boating areas! They are readily trailerable though. |

Posted - 29 Sep 2016 : 20:35:55 Thanks for that, I will have to check out the size of the front cabin to see if there is a difference. I need the cockpit space for taking friends out for the day I will also be hanging a big 80hp engine on the back as I will be going costal. |

Posted - 29 Sep 2016 : 18:45:13 What sort of idiot would ever consider doing that?????
Oh yes I remember now, it was me! Have a peek here for some ideas, mine was a 25 but you get the idea, the obvious button is "The hack" but other buttons show the finished job. I think a conquest has a shorter front cabin than a standard 20 so you will end up with more cockpit than cabin.
