Hi,just done a service on my old carb that was playing up,now starts fine,but will not run without the choke,soon as I start to close the choke it cuts out,can not work it out,any advice much appreciated,norman 23,with a ford engine, fomoco carb.

Thanks Clive,will take it apart again,yes starts cold,and pretty much first time when warm.

Slow-running wrongly adjusted or got muck in the jet.

Possibly your efforts at cleaning it have shoved muck up one of the jet-ways, Give it a good soaking and blow it all out with an air-line.

You can't have gone far wrong if it starts.
