Had a quote for pickup £480...my budget is £2000...not looking feasible. ...unless I make a daft offer....thanks for replys... |

Usually better value to buy one with a (working) engine. A functioning or repairable canopy is a bonus. Those two items can cost more than the rest of the boat. |

The one I put up on here looks to be in a lot better nick and is only a couple of hundred quid more. Check down the subject lines until you see the Norman 23 for sale one. I've put photos up. Not mine, just one some one selling on fb that looked to be a bit of a steal!

Tony Tugboats would shift it.... he has a knack of being able to get it from one trailer to another..... cunning guy and reasonable too!!!!
Is it worth it?? I duuno... is it worth it to you??? What budget do you have???
Canopy - £500-800
Engine - £300 - £1000
Fit out - £500 - £1500 depending on what you want.... how much you can do DIY. It can easily cost £1000 for foam and covers.
Add all that up and go looking for what you can buy already on the water and with an engine..... that way you will be boating this season and not selling a part finished project in 2 years time.... Do not underestimate how much time and money a DIY restoration will cost..... I've done it.... trust me.

Well on the plus side is has a trailer. I only paid £7.50 for mine so I'm probably not the best person to comment on the price. He says the trailers not roadworthy so you'd need to find someone with a hiab to lift and transport it and that's not cheap. I was quoted between £550 and £1500 for a 9 mile journey! Fortunately I live in a rural area with lots of farmers who own hiabs. The canopy will need replacing, the cheapest I've found is £525. Because the canopy is knackered rain will have got inside. I've literally had to rip EVERYTHING out of mine as it was rotten. You'll also need an outboard. I got one for £550 second hand. So, in short...I dunno. Hope this helps. |
