Posted - 25 Feb 2016 : 14:59:38 Hi,hae just taken a Yamaha 9.9 four stroke off our Norman 20 to sevice and noticed the length of the watermark and wondered if a long shaft motor is to long boat is not here so cant measure transom height,does any owner know this measurement?thanks in advance.

Posted - 02 Mar 2016 : 12:22:34 21 inches from memory, the anti-cavitation plate on any outboard must be in a "clear swim" so below the hull bottom.
That's the horizontal plate above the prop. If you stood behind the prop and looked forward there should be nothing along the boats hull to impede the view. The 150mm x 65mm tapered keel of the Norman doesn't count.
