Hi alljust wanted to say hello. Just bought a Norman 23 for £7.50. It only needs a little bit of work...so I may be asking a few questions. Am collecting at the weekend, so will post some pics of the project. Andy

Hello all. I have a couple of questions...am having to take ALL the wood out as it's knackered. What's the best type of timber to use for the joists? What's the best type of ply to use and what depth for the decking? Thanks Andy. P.S. I'll upload some pics soon.

Not so smug now Dave as the final quote is just over £3000 for the keel replacement and 7 yes 7 through hull underwater intakes to be removed and glassed over as per survey. 2 of the intakes were old sea toilet fittings and have been plugged using rubber sheet and a jubilee clip. One good poke with a tree branch and we would end up owning a very expensive underwater holiday home#128544;

That probably won't be the only expense that exceeds the £7.50 threshold...

Boat has arrived in one piece! Unsuprisingly, moving it was more than the £7.50 that I paid for it! How do I post pictures?

Don't be so smug Sonny, just because yours came free with the mooring!
I'm starting to feel bad about what I spent on my boat.....

Stratford was spot on then!
Look forward to seeing piccies of the project ahead, you may need to confirm if the price is a typo or genuine bargain, I can't believe any norman 23 could be bad enough to sell for £7.50, unless of course it's the cheapest way to get it moved out of the way.
Theres plenty of big cruisers on the broads you could buy for £7.50 but you may need to get them off the bottom first, and they wouldn't lift in one piece.....
