Decided on a run to Selby and overnight there to have a go at a manual lock or two instead of electric ones on the canal I live on. Headed for the turn off at Nottingley and- and missed it and carried on to Ferrybridge. I blamed her and vice versa. Turned Jacob round and did the 2 miles back to out turn off. First prob was Bank Dole lock. The missus could not physically open the gates. I managed it just and im 1.88 tall and 90kg. 2nd and third locks the same but a lovely run to Selby and moored at the 48 by the ouse lock. Deep Joy with a good meal and a good few pints. Then engine probs on the way back, I ran out of fuel in the middle of the river. Turns out the little o ring in the fuel connecter to the engine gave up and it started dumping fuel in the river at a greater rate than supplying the engine. Changed tanks and limped back to base at 2 mpg. The new o ring cost £1.60------ for a packet of 10. Still enjoyed it.
