Do I need any special equipment to cruise from River Soar to Lincoln?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Not done the tidal trent for a few years but from fading memory...
Good timings from cromwell lock to torksey lock, get lockies advice for that bit, vhf recommended but not essential for the tidal section and very handy for the non-tidal bits as the lockies use it (ch73 I think).
Good anchor on long rope highly recommended just in case of breakdown, and an up to date chart of the shallow spots(try rippon motor boat club).
Last time I did it the muskham ferry was a good pub as was the white swan at torksey, good grub in both.
Watch out for the gravel barges and give them plenty of space.
Theres floating pontoons outside torksey with shore access so if you get there out of lockies time you can still get to the pub.
With lockies advice you should have no problems but don't try to moor up along the way or you'll end up high and dry.

The cost of boating is insignificant compared to costs of a young wife and two teenage kids!
