Hi folks. I used to own an 18.5. I feel a bit of an interloper now because I now own an old Seamaster Cub. It was cheap, so I took a punt on it. Now, I've found extensive dry rot in the cabin. It means a major refit.

The reason I'm asking here, rather than the Seamaster club is the this site was really helpful to me with Blue Moon -- lots of positive help -- so I thought I'd try.

My problem is: I need to replace the plywood liners that are fitted to the insides of the hull, in the cabin. Trouble is, I can't see how they are fastened to the hull. Has anyone done this task? Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Alan

They will very likely be fibre-glassed onto the hull.
You will need to cut off the original liners, smooth back all rough edges and then offer up the new piece. Find a method of holding stable until the new fibreglass goes off, usually an hour or 2 should be strong enough.
If you are only fibre glassing a small area you can pick up small kits from a car parts shop, for larger quantities, look for a local trade outlet who will sell to you direct.
