Following on from my last post, I want to now cut down the divide between the bunks and the main cabin but can't figure out how it's being held fast to the roof.
I've cut across both sides and it's now hanging from the roof. I can't see what is holding it, the roof flexes as I move it. I don't want to force it and damage the roof.
Lots of forum pics show the wood fully removed.
Can anyone help?

Hi John,
The wood is now out!. My boat must be slightly different to yours, each side panel was held in with 3 screws but they were covered with a piece of 12mm ply that went the full width of the boat and was glued over both panels. No wonder I couldn't find the screws!
Frustrating but nice to see how well the boat was built.

Thanks for your help John. Those screws must be very well hidden under the varnish.
I'm going back to the boat this afternoon, I'll sand off the varnish in those areas you've helpfully pointed out and hopefully find the screw heads under some filler.
I'll let you know how I get on.

Hi Trish,
I was beginning to think I'd do the same as you but the number of times I've nearly scalped myself on that piece of wood while I've been working on the boat has convinced me to try and remove it.

Hi Ray
take a look at the picture below, the screws will have been countersunk and filled in, look carefully and you should see them, the arrow on the left shows where to look, the screw goes into the thin edge at an angle up into the ceiling, the picture shows where I found the screws in mine. Hope this makes sense!

Yes they seem to be solidly built which is good really lol. I like having the wood there I've taken the doors off, and kept them stored, put a base across the bunks and have a good sized bed plus storage room beyond the hatch.
Like you say plenty of people have removed it so I'm sure someone on the forum can advise.
