Hi and welcome.

I pick my first boat up on Sunday but it needs a complete re-fit so it'll keep me busy through the winter.

New 20 owner with many questions as I try a rebuild.

Welcome to the nuthouse from another Dave, a norman 27 is a good size starter boat, on the nene you can get away with just one lock gate, watch the canopy height at oundle mill bridge.
You will zigzag down down the river at first, we've all been there and you do get used to not over adjusting after a while, more beer always helps....
