Hello everyone. I hope you can help us. I have a Vinyl Hood on my 20 which is showing wear on the roof panels - as if the top layer of green vinyl has weathered off exposing the weave in places. The white underside is quite sound and the canopy does not leak....yet! The detachable side panels are almost perfect.
I have Googled everything and cannot locate a product to restore the top of the vinyl roof (I have found products available for proofing CANVAS hoods). I do not want to spend £800! on a new one if there's a year or two left in this one! There must be lots of us with this problem? I have the hood off the boat at the moment so I need a quick fix! Please help. |

Hi
Just remember if you go down the inflatable boat paint route that PVC and Hypalon are different and you must make sure you get the right paint

No personal experience, but often recommended is inflateable boat paint....

try looking up curtainside paints,i seem to recall that you can get the paint that is used on lorry curtainsides

Have a look down a few threads for "Canopy Paint". The stuff we mention there suggests its OK for pvc and canvas!

There used to be a product that was always suggested here but I can't remember the name and a search doesn't show it. In any case I think it was only in blue or black.
This one might be worth a try but I doubt if you'll get an acceptable colour match and it will only be a very temporary job as it's bound to crack up after a few months.
