Posted - 22 Apr 2013 : 10:35:15 We have a problem with the starb'd sliding window on our recently purchased Norman 23. Although it slides open and closed without a problem, there is a green mossy type mark all the way down the window. the mark/stain is on the inside faces of both panes of glass. The only way I can see of cleaning this is to remove the 'sliding' pane of glass. Could anyone give me some pointers to the best way of removing the glass, or cleaning this without removing the glass. Thanks in advance.

Posted - 30 Apr 2013 : 11:48:40 Yep Merlin........... Royal Navy. I think I may purchase an extension rudder, it can get quite hairy trying to manouver at slow speeds in busy marinas or even out on the 'cut' passing oncoming boats on particular narrow parts of the canal....

Posted - 29 Apr 2013 : 13:04:18 was fairly easy you need to have two 4" g clamps to bend it round the engine and a cordless drill to ream out the holes to get the bolts in when you bend the metal fixing arms the job took 40 mins or so between some alcoholic lubricant

My favorite topic !!
Most will say rudder or ballast - If its your first boat then just try again !!
I zigzaged our 22 down the river when we first bought her - At the time my thirteen yr old son could steer her in a straight line - so ??? not the boat !!
2 yrs later we took out the inboard - at this time we borrowed dads 23 (Mk3) steered like a pig - I thought OMG ive ruined our boat by removing the inboard & zdrive (No dads just needed the front end ballast removing then it was fine !)
Before you panic or add wt just get used to the boat !!!

Posted - 25 Apr 2013 : 10:17:57 Its a bolt on attachment bolts on the outboard just above the cavitation plate it improves steering at slow speeds have a look here I bought one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=&_osacat=15271&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0&_nkw=bolt+on+rudder&_sacat=15271&_from=R40

Posted - 22 Apr 2013 : 12:35:20 you cant get the glass out without removing the frames you could try tapping off the side seals then feed something in to clean then refit them
