I Would be interested in hearing from any Norman 20 owners who are based on the Lanky so we can swop experiences with our beloved vessels.
I am(SYLK LADY)moored at Garstang near to Moss Lane and am always keen to get to know other owners and pass on / learn.

We were the proud owners of a Conquest (its a N20 plus a bit at the stern) and now upgraded to a N23 so we can stand up in the cabin.
We too are based at Garstang Marina berth 231 and would be glad to meet other Norman users in the area.

I guess i was lucky with my 20.I bought it for £350 as a complete novice.(Right place,Right time springs to mind)
I spent 18 months refurbishing it and during this time i came to realise i had bought an absolute bargin when i compared it to other projects i have seen.
Not only was it a creative learning curve for me,it was a labour of love.Normans are a fantastic boat to refurb and the more of these that are kept afloat,the better. I am now hooked on boating,and long may it continue...i just need to convince the missus that there are many lazy days to be had on the canal,rather than decorating the house. |

I looked at various Norman's when buying a boat, but didn't in the end......... I know a bloke that used to have one........ Oh, and I 'm not on the Lanky either....

We're in Moons bridge with a Seamaster 27, Petersfield, right by the slipway. We used to have a boat hire business, including a Norman 20. The links are getting more tenuous now...next will be someone who has seen a Norman.
Would be very happy to meet any of you. The kettle is always on.

I had a walk around Moons Bridge Marina last weekend and was pleasantly suprised to see at least 6-8 Norman 20's. It amazes me all the different configurations of how people have fitted out the internals of their individual craft. Some are 'scary', yet some are very creative. Makes interesting viewing..i just hope nobody thinks i am being nosey looking through their canopy's.
Re- the bridge repairs, from what i saw it's going to be a while yet ! Looks like your going to be penned in south of the bridge for some time. |

hi,not a norman 20, but previously norman 23,currently an atlanta24(which by default is still a norman)but on the lanky at garstang marina,anyway, all of us normanistas are part of the same daft collective who, regardless of budget, love our boating!as are the owners of other craft,many of whom share the "norman ethos"
don't confine yourself!

Hi we are Wisdom moore at Catforth. We used to be at Galgate but had to leave when they closed the marina.its good where we are though.If we get up your way I will give you a wave and have a chat. No idea when that will be as the canal is still closed at moons bridge. Despite several e mails to the trust they still have not replied. I only asked when it would be open and if there was a chance for easter
