Posted - 07 Mar 2013 : 09:46:59 Well I never Just checked craft for another quote it came back at a healthy £110.00 for an £8000 valuation
I had checked last year and decided they were to expensive along with a few others I had made a note and kept it in my files
If I had given them another go I would have been happy with that quote (sorry Trev)

Posted - 07 Mar 2013 : 09:21:30 Interesting seems to be a wide variation of prices one thing I did come across when searching for a deal that suited me was age, most normans are now over 30years old, and with a lot of insurance companies thats the limit without a survey, but having said that the one I picked was a 40year limit, the policy also covers coastal cruising and 30days foriegn cruising

Posted - 06 Mar 2013 : 20:11:28 Last year I insured Mora our Norman 23 with Craft insure.com for £104.00 with a valuation of £3000. This year I was pleasantly surprise to find that although I raised the value to £5000 the cost of the policy is now £95.00
And I would like to add that if they write to me and say the costing is wrong then I shall hold all of you responsible. |

I had a quote of £105 in December from Craft Insure against a valuation of £3500 for my Conquest without the need of a survey. More than that valuation and they was going to ask for a survey.
yes they tried that with me, but I said that the outboard alone almost came to that so the boat was not covered ? so the lady said she would up it by £1000 there was was belly laughter as I hung up (this wasn,t craftins bye the way)

I know this was more expensive than a mate who has a £7.5k Freeman 22' at the same mooring. I put it down to him having 3 years without a claim and no outboard engine.
The company used by df (GWC?) was about the same.
I delayed taking the insurance due to not launching the boat. Guess I will soon have to get back to the insurance thing now lauching is looking a posability. |
