I have a Yamaha F9.9 Outboard with a Yamaha 703 remote control box and the throttle lever is very stiff. I tried backing out the throttle friction screw at the front of the box but it made no noticeable difference.

When i detach the cables from the drive and throttle toggles, the throttle lever is as smooth as i expect it to be, so i pinned it down to the drive toggle. When i tried to rotate the drive toggle by hand it is very difficult, so my question is, am i tageting the right area, and should there ne an adjustment i can make to allow for a smoother operation

Thanks,
