Well we have fixed our leak,it was coming in via all the deck fittings,we re-seated them with mastic tape then got sidetracked onto something else and never got to tighten them down properly, anyway now they are all nipped up we have no more water coming in
My next job is the wireing the lights are done with blue and brown wire in a white sheath,is that the wrong wire?it does'nt look right to me.
thanks in adance for any help.

Mine was rewired prior to me buying it, looks a decent job and BS examiner was happy with it and my lighting circuits are brown/blue with white outer cable inside a kind of oval white plastic conduit.

Well done with the water leak. have looked at mine repeatedly and thought what could be the source of your leak.
Wiring? What is the load on the circuit in amps? then get wire to carry that load. Twin core (live and neutral, brown and blue white or black outer sheath) multi strand is OK. AS LONG AS ITS THE RIGHT SIZE!!!! Well almost? Marine electric multistrand cable is coated with nickel (I think) as its more resistant to salt water. For the aplication our type of boats were intended, domestic wiring will do (its a floating caravan afterall)! Though others here do use there boats in more challeging environments and good for them.

LED light circuits will (depending on the amount!(You really need to be a lawyer to answer these questions!)) an use smaller cable size than flourescent, which will in turn need less than indcandescent bulbs due to the current (amps) used by the circuit to power the item. Grab a guide from Wickes, Screwfix, Toolstation or off the web, (there is a good guide to boat wiring on a site something like tonys guide to... but I cant remember now as a very good rare bottle of wine has kicked in! Someone here will tell you.

Off to prepare fo a sore head in moning hope the forgoing helps!
