Posted - 23 Oct 2012 : 01:45:53 I have been seeking quotes for the insurance of my boat from 3 providers. Craft Insure, GJW (or something like that) and Saga The first 2 are in the running, quick to respond within a pound of each other all quoted via the net. Saga, ( yes I thought being over 50 it may be worth asking them) seem to be on another planet, 14 pages plus a booklet via the post, £60 dearer and they want me to get (and pay for) an independant valuation! All I wanted was the bottom line figure to start with.
So question 1. Does Craft Insure still give a 10% referal fee back to this site?
Qustion 2. Does either Craft Insure or GJW have an office, agency or brokerage running out of Brighton? I want to avoid them. See topic Norman 23 for sale £1100. Ive checked GJW who have a registered office in London but cannot find Craft insures location off their web site.

Posted - 24 Oct 2012 : 18:21:22 Craftinsure are great (unbeatable) for the smaller boat, as long as it does not fall foul of their age restriction.
I believe they are just a web operating company for Haven Knox Johnson.... or someone like that.

Posted - 23 Oct 2012 : 07:44:59 I'm with GJW direct and can vouch for them when handling a claim as I had over £2000 off them last year for outdrive damage, they didn't send a surveyer out just accepted the report and photos for that amount (probably costs them £500 to survey), they did want an in date survey but thats for £25K valuation and coastal, claim only put the premium up £40, cheque arrived very quickly. They are liverpool based, if you go to them tell them I sent you and quote policy number 170856 (Leo Magill) and I get £20 I believe craftinsure do give Trev a kickback still but they wanted over £500 for my cover, I'm paying £200 after the claim. Craftinsure where also pretty good at handling a claim when I got t-boned in my old norman but I seem to remember they put the premium up a lot more. Can't remember where craft insure are based.
