First of all thank you all for your kind advise Re my Condensation Problem posted on the 31 Aug.
Based on that advise I have purchased a Solar Air Vent and have installed it on my Norman 20.
Works lovely, what a fantastic bit of equipment.
But the question is:
Do I have the vent sucking air in or do I have it blowing the Air out.
To be or not to be. :)
Whats the take on this. Any ideas |

we still get a lot of condensation overnight, especially now the temp is dropping.

The Solar Vent has a vent 130mm wide and it has what looks to be a little battery inside it.
Which I assume is rechargeable and seems to hold a small charge to keep the fan operating for at least another couple of hours after the sun has gone down or in.

I go with Dave - Draw the Air out.
We can suffer from Condensation on very cold nights in the bow bunks when sleeping as the hot air rising from the bed (Breath before any lewd comments  ) condensates on the low ceiling of the bow area.
Whats the diameter of the solar vents ? Just had a crazy idea of linking to rechargable batts so they will also run at night (Similar to solar lights)Or do they already have such a option ?
Another point - Are these always open ? Just thinking of BSS requirements , our man insists on the adjustable ones being locked open (We drilled & bolted ours so they cant be shut) A fair point as in cold weather a closed vent & all appliances on etc etc.....

I recom warmer air will hold more moisture than cold air and the warmer air will be at the top, cold air has usually dropped it's moisture already hence the condensation problem, air will be drawn in lower down to replace it anyway so still a through flow (assuming you have a low vent too(bss requirement)).

At the moment I have blowing the Air out, but I can change it so it draws the air in.
But whats best. |

Blow some smoke at it on a bright day to be sure, I think mine draw air out.
